Board Chair’s Message

Theological education is a sacred stewardship. The work of preparing men and women to serve the gospel, the Church, and the world must be approached with humility, faithfulness, and a firm commitment to the Word of God

Jesus called His disciples and equipped them to become workers for the kingdom of God. Following His example, Washington Jabez University was established to prepare men and women whose lives are marked by biblical truth, holiness, prayer, and evangelism. We believe that Christian education must form not only the mind, but also the character, spiritual life, and ministry of each student. Washington Jabez University carries out this mission through three primary areas of leadership development: missionary leadership, pastoral leadership, and lay leadership. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are designed to help students grow in biblical knowledge, theological understanding, Christian character, and practical ministry. Through the faithful service of our faculty, students are challenged to study diligently, think carefully, pray faithfully, and apply God’s truth in the Church and in the world. We recognize that an institution cannot create a servant of God by education alone. God calls, shapes, and sends His servants according to His sovereign purpose. The responsibility of Washington Jabez University is to provide a faithful environment in which students may be taught, mentored, strengthened, and prepared to respond obediently to that calling. The Board of Trustees remains committed to safeguarding the University’s Christian mission, supporting academic quality, and ensuring that its programs remain faithful to the purposes for which the institution was established. Our prayer is that every student will be equipped to serve with humility, integrity, wisdom, and courage. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37–38). May the Lord continue to use Washington Jabez University to prepare faithful servants who proclaim the gospel, strengthen the Church, and glorify God throughout the world.

Equipping Leaders for Faithful Ministry

A Prayer for the Harvest

We pray that God raises up powerful leaders to change the world, and we pledge our utmost support to help you fulfill your mission in Christ.

My prayer is that God blesses this university to produce not only faithful servants for His Kingdom but also effective, powerful leaders who can change the world. We hold to the spirit of prayer that Jesus taught His disciples: 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest' (Matthew 9:37-38). If God has providentially directed you to apply to Washington Jabez University, you have made the right choice. You have our word that we will surely do our best to assist you in fulfilling your mission in Christ.
