WJU Website Privacy and Cookie Notice
Effective Date: 2026-07-20 · website-privacy-v1.0
This Notice explains how Washington Jabez University ("WJU") handles personal information and browser storage on its public website. The Admissions Portal has an additional, more detailed privacy policy for application records and documents.
1. Information We Collect
When you request information, WJU receives the name, email address, telephone number, program and start-term interests, text-message preference, and message you submit. When you use the website, WJU and its service providers may process IP address, request time, page or route, referrer, approximate location, browser, device, and security or diagnostic information. Account, application, and student information is governed by the additional notices and policies applicable to those services.
2. How We Use Information
WJU uses website and inquiry information to answer questions, provide requested admissions and program information, operate and secure the website, remember user choices, understand aggregate website usage when permitted, diagnose problems, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable obligations. WJU does not sell website visitor or inquiry information or use it for unrelated targeted advertising.
3. Cookies and Browser Storage
Strictly necessary and functional storage may operate without optional consent because it supports sign-in, security, language choice, interface preferences, and the consent choices you request. Optional analytics and Google Maps content remain disabled until you permit their category. You can reopen Cookie Settings from the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent stops future optional loading after the page refreshes. Clearing browser data may remove your saved choices and cause the consent notice to appear again. Supabase authentication cookies — WJU/Supabase — maintain and refresh a signed-in session — duration follows the authentication session and renewal settings. NEXT_LOCALE — WJU — remembers the selected language — browser session. sidebar_state — WJU — remembers whether a portal sidebar is open — 7 days. wju_cookie_consent — WJU — records optional analytics and Google Maps choices, policy version, and selection time — 180 days. wju-application-draft local storage — WJU — restores an in-progress application on the same browser — remains until submission or until the Portal or browser user clears it.
4. Optional Analytics and Google Maps
If you allow Visit Analytics, WJU loads Vercel Web Analytics to receive aggregated page-use information. WJU configures analytics to remove query strings and fragments and not to send events from login, application, onboarding, document-portal, or recommendation-token routes. Vercel states that its Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and does not associate analytics with an identified visitor. Do not place personal information in public-page URLs. If you allow Google Maps, the Visit page loads a map from Google. The connection may provide Google with technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and the WJU website origin. You can instead use the external map link, which takes you directly to Google under Google's own terms and privacy policy.
5. Service Providers and Disclosures
WJU uses service providers including Vercel for website hosting and optional aggregate analytics, Supabase for authentication and website or portal infrastructure, Resend for sending inquiry and service emails, Google for an optional embedded map and selected sign-in services, and Microsoft when its sign-in service is selected. Information may also be disclosed to authorized WJU personnel, professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, rights, records, or systems.
6. Retention and Security
WJU normally deletes Request Information inquiry emails two years after receipt unless they become part of an active application, student record, required institutional record, dispute, security investigation, or legal hold. Admissions records follow the separate Admissions Portal Privacy Policy. Provider security and diagnostic records follow the applicable provider and WJU operational schedules. WJU uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your Choices and Requests
You may decline optional analytics and Google Maps without losing access to the core website. You may use Cookie Settings to change future optional loading. You may also ask WJU about personal information it holds about you or request correction or deletion. WJU may verify identity and may retain or restrict information when necessary to protect others, maintain required records, prevent misuse, or comply with law. Additional rights may apply based on where you live.
8. International Visitors, Children, and Contact
WJU is located in Virginia, United States. Information submitted from another country is transferred to and processed in the United States and may be processed where WJU service providers operate. This website is intended for prospective higher-education students and the general public and is not directed to children under 13. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to admin@wjuniv.org or Washington Jabez University, 4421 Dale Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22193. Do not send identification documents or other sensitive records in an initial privacy-request email.
