Apply advanced biblical theology and hermeneutical methods to contemporary pastoral and ministry contexts.

Evaluate the identity, mission, and practices of the church in light of New Testament teaching, early Christian historical development, and contemporary ministry contexts.

Strategic Evangelism

Develop and evaluate biblically ground-ed evangelism strategies appropriate to postmodern and religiously pluralistic settings.

Cultural Engagement

Address complex ethical, multicultural, and global challenges through contextu-ally appropriate ministry practices.

Spiritual Resilience

Develop and apply sustainable spiritual formation practices for resilient, long-term Christian leadership.

Professional Research

Conduct rigorous applied ministry re-search and use the findings to develop evidence-informed responses to signifi-cant ministry challenges.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the Doctor of Ministry program at Washington Jabez University, Applicants must meet the following spiritual and academic standards to be considered for admission.

Academic Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum graduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • Demonstrated English-language proficiency, if applicable. Official test scores such as TOEFL or IELTS may be required.

Ministerial Experience

  • At least three years of substantial ministry experience in a church, mission organization, educational institution, chaplaincy, nonprofit organization, or other Christian ministry setting.
  • Current engagement in a ministry context suitable for the Dissertation

Application Materials

  • Application form & non-refundable fee.
  • Personal Statement outlining ministry goals and doctoral focus.
  • Resume / Curriculum Vitae.
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (academic & ministry).
  • One recent digital photograph.
  • A valid government-issued photo identification document
  • Passport and applicable immigration or residency documents(for Residents Outside the United States).
  • Personal Interview with the admissions committee.
  • Preliminary Dissertation Proposal identifying a significant ministry issue or area of inquiry.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for the Doctor of Ministry degree, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Credit Hours: Complete 40 credits, including 32 coursework credits and eight Dissertation credits.
  • Minimum GPA: Maintain a cumulative WJU GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Residency: Complete at least 75 percent of the degree requirements through Washington Jabez University.
  • Dissertation: Completion of a doctoral dissertation worth 8 Credits.
    • Focus: A applied ministry dissertation demonstrating advanced leadership skills.
    • Requirement: Oral dissertation defense upon completion of coursework.
  • Exit Interview: Candidates must complete an exit interview regarding their doctoral journey.
  • General Requirements: Complete all other University graduation requirements.
  • Clearance: Complete all financial and administrative requirements, including payment of the graduation fee.
